Our friends from Badalona has asked us . when we go there. to teach them how to sing and danse a Greek song. We were so enthusiastic about the idea and we chose " Never on Sunday", M. Hatzidakis song sung by Melina MerkouriAπ' το παράθυρό μου στέλνω
Aπό την πόρτα μου σαν βγω
Ap to parathiro mu stelno
Ena dio ke tria ke tesera filia
Pu ftanun sto limani
Ena ke dio ke tria ke tesera pulia
Pos ithela na iha ena ke dio
Ke tria ke tesera pedia
Pu san tha megalosun ola
Tha ginun leventes gia hari tu Pirea
Oso ki an psakso de vrisko alo limani
Treli na mehi kani oso ton Pirea
Pu otan bradiazi tragudia maradiazi
Ke tis penies tu alazi gemizi apo pedia
Den iparxi kanis pun a min ton agapo
Ke san to vradi kimitho ksero pos
Ksero pos pos tha ton onirefto
Petradia vazo sto lemo ke mia ha
Ke mia ha ke mia hantra filahto
Giati ta vradia kartero sto limani san vgo
Kapion agnosto na vro
Oso ki an psakso de vrisko alo limani
Treli na mehi kani oso ton Pirea
Pu otan bradiazi tragudia maradiazi
Ke tis penies tu alazi gemizi apo pedia
from my window
I send one, two, three
and four kisses
and to the port
comes one, two, three
and four birds
I want to have one, two, three
and four sons
who when they became men
will be the pride of Piraeus
If I search the world over
I'll find no other port
which has the magic
of my port Piraeus
when twilight comes
the port sings to me
and young men
and echoes of song
fill my port of Piraeus
No one goes by my door
for whom I don't feel love
and those who come tomorrow
fill my dreams at night
so to the jewels arount my throat
I add a charm to bring me luck
and now I'm ready
to welcome the stranger
come from the port
